POSITION OVERVIEW:

Markets to prospective buyers of rentals and audio and video services. Meets with prospects to understand needs; performs site visits; develops and presents proposals; gains decision on proposed work. Ensure client satisfaction throughout the entire sales and event/rental process.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handles rental order transactions. Receives calls, answers questions, provides pricing and writes up paperwork for rental.
  • Qualifies caller to ensure a true prospect.
  • Sets up an appointment for a face-to-face visit.
  • Meets with prospects to identify needs and discuss desired services from AVG.
  • Performs site visits for prospective jobs and gathers all pertinent information.
  • Submits proposals to prospects and obtains a decision to buy or not buy. Gets a signed contract from the buyer along with the deposit.
  • Preps and schedules delivery, set-up and installation and pick-up of rental equipment.
  • Coordinates any additional labor/resources required for productions with COO.
  • Facilitates delivery, setup, operation (as needed), and pick-up of equipment and systems.
  • Ensures all returned equipment is in good working order, ready for next rental/use.
  • Maintains an organized and efficient storage system for all equipment between rentals, facilitating repairs and alterations as needed.
  • Maintains activity and inventory logs on all equipment.
  • Actively markets to targeted markets as outlined in the Marketing & Sales Plan developed annually.
  • Provides weekly sales activity report to Director of Sales.
  • Attends sales meeting and comes prepared to discuss lead generation activities, outstanding rental proposals, and forecasted monthly sales.
  • Provides Office Manager with the client payment schedule.
  • Monitors payment schedule and coordinate with accounting the collection of payments in accordance with the established schedule.
  • Ensures client satisfaction throughout the entire sales and job installation process.
  • Asks for referrals.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Rental & Events Representative will be accountable to the Director of Sales. Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, employees, and customers of the company.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The following are the minimum qualifications an individual needs to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Associates degree (2 years) or Bachelor degree (4 years)
  • Working knowledge of Audio Video equipment and systems.
  • A working knowledge of large format mixing consoles a plus.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • 5+ years of experience connecting and operating AV equipment.
  • Experience working with bands on setup and operation a plus.
  • 2+ years of proven sales success in equipment sales or related field.
  • Ability to create new sales opportunities through lead generation efforts.

TRAVEL:

Local travel within territory and some out of town travel may be required.

  • In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Employees are required to stand, walk, sit, and use their hands and fingers. Some lifting of objects, 50 pounds, is required.
  • DOT License and ability to drive Box Truck.
  • Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities are also required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Site work job conditions are similar to typical office environments.

  • Job site conditions vary, but are typically clean, orderly, lighted, and ventilated. Access to and from each site to be coordinated as required.

SUCCESS CRITERIA:

  • Maintains a neat and organized warehouse area, and accurate inventory log of all equipment.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely with clients and co-workers, accurately managing expectations and relevant details.
  • Performs marketing and sales activities agreed upon in the Marketing and Sales Plan. Reports weekly activities to the Sales Manager.
  • Consistently meets monthly sales goals, meeting job profitability expectations.
  • Utilizes resources effectively during the sales process.
  • Informs the office of the daily schedule and stays in touch throughout the day.
  • Submits accurate, timely and complete paperwork and signed contracts for new jobs.
  • Ensures payment for services is collected in accordance with the established payment schedule.
  • Responds proactively and takes initiative in resolving client issues.
  • Stays abreast of industry issues and attends at least two industry or sales-related training sessions each year.
  • Maintains harmonious relations with staff, clients, outside counsel and other contacts at all times.
