A Christmas Install at Mountain View Community Church

Problem: Need more seats

Mountain View Community Church (MVCC) in Frederick, Maryland has been faced with a unique challenge ever since they opened their own building in the Fall of 2010.  Since opening, they have experienced steady growth and now on occasion, exceed the max seating capacity – specifically, Christmas and Easter.  The question is “Where do you put all of the extra people?”

Solution: Send them to The Pit

Fortunately, there are a number of options at MVCC that could accommodate the extra people on these special occasions.  One area in particular is “The Pit”, which is the student ministry area.  The Pit has a very cool motif and can accommodate the additional guests very comfortably – so it was the perfect solution.  Audio Video-Group partnered with MVCC to design and install an overflow audio-video system.  This system distributes real time, uncompressed, high quality digital audio and video throughout the church.  The areas where the church chose to distribute the audio and video include the upper and lower lobbies, the adult classroom, and The Pit.

The over-flow system consists of a robotic HD camera, operator controlled joystick, preview monitor and video distribution.  The system has been implemented in such a manner that it can be expanded into a full blown video production system once the church is ready to grow the system.  For now, it is all they need to provide the best over-flow seating experience.
