Client Success Story: A/V Design Solutions for YMCA South County
Comprehensive A/V Design Solutions
The YMCA South County in Frederick, Maryland, is one of the largest nonprofits in the county. We at Audio-Video Group love to see nonprofits outfitted with the best in A/V design solutions, so we were delighted to work with them in their new Urbana building.
Building relationships in the community is something AVG has always prized, particularly among the nonprofit sector. The YMCA South County is no exception–we were fortunate to come in at the design phase and work closely with the organization’s leaders all along the way, which helps to ease the process for everyone. It’s critically important to learn about your goals, evaluate your needs, and create a custom design to achieve your objectives. And, when you work closely with your A/V integrator during planning and construction, this can save you time and money.
The YMCA wanted a state-of-the-art A/V system, including paging, mass notification systems, background music, sophisticated emergency notification systems, video projection, and more. So we outfitted their entire building with A/V technology.
Flexible Communication Technology
Community members who go to the new location will note the four-panel video wall in the lobby that can alert them to upcoming events, that day’s classes, scheduling changes, and more. They will also enjoy studios with video projection, quality sound systems, and wireless microphones–all of which give flexibility to these multi-use rooms.
The YMCA is always about more than just exercise–the building includes multiple community rooms and teaching kitchens. All of which now have audio/video equipment that will help teachers and students get the most out of every class.
Enhance Your Atmosphere with Sound
Throughout the building, background music fills the space and creates nice ambient noise. The system can do pre-recorded messages as well. It’s a step up from what people hear at the grocery store–this system is computer-driven, programmed, customized, and sounds clear.
The new paging system also makes contacting people in the building easy. Whether users want to target a particular zone, room, or floor. Employees and volunteers can also install apps onto their phones to use the paging system from their devices.
Safety is also a priority. The mass notification system includes safety features like panic buttons in strategic locations like locker rooms and pool areas. When someone pushes a panic button, authorities know that the alarm was triggered in a specific area. And expediting the necessary response. For example, the system could integrate with the middle school located behind the YMCA building, or any other buildings on the campus.
We hope the YMCA South County location enriches the lives of community members for decades to come. We are glad to have played a role in this wonderful new building.
