Leaving PowerPoint and Going Pro

A PowerPoint presentation has its place, but that place isn’t on the screen during your worship service.  Your worship presentation should enhance your message; it shouldn’t be dull.  Today, there are a variety of presentation programs to help you give your service a professional, high-quality feel.  To help you out, at Audio-Video Group we’ve identified three options for presenting content during your church program.  Chances are one of these options is the right fit to take your worship experience to the next level.

EasyWorship

Let’s start with one of the most basic options out there: EasyWorship.  This is a great option if you have a low price point and value simplicity.  The full version is available for only $399, and features dynamic backgrounds, easy-to-manage transitions, and drag-and-drop content input from three different Bible versions and your song library.  That’s about it, because this program is essentially one step up from PowerPoint.  It’s also important to note that it hasn’t been updated since 2009.  If you want more advanced and up-to-date features, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

MediaShout

MediaShout is also priced at $399, but it provides a range of more advanced features.  These include the Volunteer Mode, which allows volunteers to run the presentation without changing settings, the Twitter Deck, which can search for, filter, and display tweets for display during a Q&A session of a service, and a powerful Video Engine that can control object transitions down to 1/10 of a second.  Additionally, MediaShout is integrated with popular software such as Planning Center and Song Select, so importing content is simple.  If you’re looking for improved features at a still-modest price, this software could be the answer.

ProPresenter

ProPresenter is the top-of-the-line when it comes to worship presentation.  It boasts the largest user base and is the most active in development, with updates being introduced frequently.  It also offers the most features.  From Twitter integration to easily customizable confidence screen displays, this program has it all.  There is even an app available so that your pastor can have access to his presentation, notes, and scripture, all from his tablet.  Of course, this is also the most expensive option available.  While a single-user license is $399 and allows multiple machines to run the program, a site license that enables concurrent use is $799.  If you’re looking for the most advanced features, though, this option is definitely worth it.
